TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE STRATEGIES

The LACOE ELTAU uses the following six strategies to provide equitable access to ongoing, needs-driven services that support LEAs and Grantees in creating and implementing effective and quality Expanded Learning Programs in Region 11.

Coaching

We conduct meetings and conversations at the individual and small group level to develop specific skills that increase staff capacity and improve program quality and effectiveness by:

  • building relationships
  • actively listening
  • utilizing inquiry-based strategies
  • making recommendations grounded in research providing promising practices

Professional Development

We offer learning opportunities to meet the needs of Expanded Learning staff in strengthening capacity and program quality by:

  • planning
  • designing
  • organizing
  • delivering professional development

Consultations

We conduct meetings and conversations at the organizational and programmatic levels to understand and address an organization’s systemic and complex needs by:

  • actively listening
  • utilizing inquiry-based strategies
  • analyzing issues
  • making recommendations that are grounded in research

Resource Brokering

We make and build connections between stakeholder needs and resources by identifying, selecting and arranging existing resources that can be operationalized for an agency’s systemic and collaborative approach to support effective and high quality programs.

Facilitation

We organize engagement opportunities and facilitate conversations through:

  • inquiry
  • networking
  • peer-to-peer relationship building

Resource Development

We create and maintain resources by identifying and forecasting emerging needs of the field through researching and analyzing relevant laws, policies, and existing resources to support effective and quality programs.
