STEAM COPs are open to all staff and organizations wanting to build knowledge, skills, structures and partnerships necessary to be successful in developing high quality STEAM learning environments for youth in Expanded Learning programs. 

Focus #1  Inquiry—Asking Questions—Building Curiosity and Wonder  Sessions September 22, October 6, October 20

What is inquiry?  How to encourage and inquiring mindset?  Open-ended projects in Science

Bloom’s Taxonomy—What Is It?  How do you use it to craft better questions?  How do you create essential questions utilizing Bloom’s Taxonomy?  Open-ended projects in Technology

              Building Curiosity and Wonder—Utilizing the Inquiry Protocol to transform the activity into a learning opportunity.  Open-ended projects in Engineering


What we experience:  

*High Quality STEAM lessons based on NGSS Standards

*How to create hands-on/minds-on inquiry based learning opportunities

*How to utilize Bloom's Taxonomy

*Learn Lesson Planning tips, Coaching tips

*How to help youth learn observation skills

* Networking opportunities

* How to connect STEAM learning with other curriculum areas

 

Meetings are held via ZOOM.

Materials and ZOOM link for all learning sessions will be sent out via email one business day in advance to allow for review and gathering supplies for the hands-on activities.
