The STEAM Learning Series is open to all Expanded Learning
staff who wish to strengthen their
understanding and confidence with STEAM content and practices with the purpose of creating positive STEAM learning environments for the youth
in their programs. The STEAM Learning
Series will introduce the importance of a growth mind set, the
constructivist learning theory, restorative practices, and inquiry-based
learning strategies. Each STEAM
Learning Series meeting will focus on strategies for implementing strong STEAM
learning experiences for youth,
as well as provide the participant with “ready-to-go” activities.
All meetings are via ZOOM.
What is Inquiry? How do you encourage the inquiry mindset? Open-ended Science Projects.
Bloom’s Taxonomy – What is it and how do you use it to help
your students and/or staff create better questions. Open-ended
Technology Projects.
Building Curiosity and Wonder – Utilizing the Inquiry
Protocol to transform an activity into a learning opportunity. Open-ended Engineering projects.
