The STEAM Learning Series is open to all Expanded Learning staff who wish to strengthen their understanding and confidence with STEAM content and practices with the purpose of creating positive STEAM learning environments for the youth in their programs. The STEAM Learning Series will introduce the importance of a growth mind set, the constructivist learning theory, restorative practices, and inquiry-based learning strategies.  Each STEAM Learning Series meeting will focus on strategies for implementing strong STEAM learning experiences for youth, as well as provide the participant with “ready-to-go” activities. 

All meetings are via ZOOM.

What is an investigation?  The importance of trails to determine if data are accurate and the norm.  The art of reflection on what went well and what did not go well, and how to make adjustments.

Constructing meaning and explanations of what you have observed.  Getting ready to share your experience, and creating models.

What does it mean to “argue from evidence”?  How do you gather evidence?  Protocol for sharing your evidence.
