The TK/K Exploration Sessions offers engaging, hands-on approaches to research-based professional development, designed specifically for Expanded Learning Staff supporting TK/K Students. 


By the end of this Exploration Session, participants will be able to implement developmentally appropriate practices that support TK/K Students through the following:

• Designing hands-on, play-based activities that promote exploration, inquiry and creativity in Expanded Learning Programs

• Structuring daily routines to include a balance of child-initiated and adult-guided experiences through developmentally appropriate play-based activities

• Aligning Expanded Learning play-based activities with the domains in the California TK Learning Foundations and Frameworks

• Collegial Conversation and promising practices when implementing Exploring different types of play in expanded Learning Programs

• How to use the Expanded Learning TK/K Program Quality Self-Assessment Tool to incorporate activities and program structure that promotes play
