The TK/K Exploration Sessions offers engaging, hands-on approaches to research-based professional development, designed specifically for Expanded Learning Staff supporting TK/K Students. 


By the end of this Exploration Session, participants will be able to implement developmentally appropriate practices that support TK/K Students through the following:

• Incorporating a variety of clearly defined areas within the TK/K space that promotes choice, independence and self-regulation

• Using visuals, schedules and signage that help TK/K students navigate routines and expectations independently

• Exploring SEL themed materials that support emotional literacy and social skills

• Aligning physical space setup with the California TK Learning Foundations domains of: SEL Development, Approaches to Learning and Physical Development

• How to use the Expanded Learning TK/K Program Quality Self-Assessment Tool to design developmentally appropriate physical spaces that includes SEL.
