This
series is intended exclusively for individuals currently serving as Expanded
Learning Site Coordinators. Program Supervisors are encouraged to register to
support their Site Coordinators.
The Site
Coordinator Development Series is a five-part hybrid professional development
series designed to strengthen the knowledge, capacity, confidence and
leadership practices of Expanded Learning professionals.
The series is
intentionally scaffolded, with each session building upon the previous one to
deepen participant understanding over time. Topics progress from foundational
systems knowledge and role clarity toward leadership development, program
quality, continuous improvement and professional empowerment.
Drawing on the
pedagogical insights of bell hooks, participants will engage in reflective
learning experiences that connect lived experience, leadership practice,
compliance and program quality. Throughout the series, participants will
examine how their role contributes to student access, program sustainability,
staff culture and the broader story and impact of Expanded Learning.
Part 2 -
Claiming Your Educator Identity: Leadership Rooted in Experience
Building on the
foundational knowledge from Session 1, this session focuses on professional
identity, confidence and leadership through the lens of lived experience.
Participants will reflect on the experiences, values and relationships that
shape their work while strengthening their ability to describe their role as
educators and leaders within Expanded Learning.
Through
reflection and dialogue, Site Coordinators will explore how their personal
story and daily practice contribute to meaningful learning environments and
stronger connections with youth, staff and school communities.
