The STEAM Learning Series is open to all Expanded Learning staff who wish to strengthen their understanding and confidence with STEAM content and practices with the purpose of creating positive STEAM learning environments for the youth in their programs. The STEAM Learning Series will introduce the importance of a growth mind set, the constructivist learning theory, restorative practices, and inquiry-based learning strategies.  Each STEAM Learning Series meeting will focus on strategies for implementing strong STEAM learning experiences for youth, as well as provide the participant with “ready-to-go” activities. 

All meetings are via ZOOM.

By joining the R11 Expanded Learning STEAM Hub Steering Committee, participants will collaborate with the ELTAU in supporting high-quality STEAM Learning Opportunities for Los Angeles County youth participating in Expanded Learning Programs. The STEAM Hub Steering Committee is intended to be representative of STEAM educators throughout LA County, including by not limited to educators from STEAM-rich institutions, core content areas, and local businesses. The ideal Expanded Learning participants would include program leadership with an interest in or experience implementing STEAM programming in informal learning environments.
