Part 5 - Supporting School Readiness: Weaving Language, Literacy, Math, and Science into Everyday Moments
Session Description: Bring school readiness to life through playful, purposeful learning. This session offers practical strategies for supporting Dual Language and English Learners in TK/K, while integrating math, science, and literacy in fun, hands-on ways. Discover how to spark curiosity, encourage problem-solving, and design culturally responsive activities that build essential skills through everyday moments.

The TK/K Exploration Sessions offers engaging, hands-on approaches to research-based professional development, designed specifically for Expanded Learning Staff supporting TK/K Students.
By the end of this Exploration Session, participants will be able to implement developmentally appropriate practices that support TK/K Students through the following:
• Creating and implementing Predictable routines, visual supports and emotion-regulation tools for TK-K students in Expanded Learning Programs
• How Expanded Learning Program Staff can engage in warm, attuned interactions that help students feel seen, heard and supported
• How Expanded Learning Staff can create trauma-sensitive spaces, quiet zones and sensory friendly materials that promote a sense of calm and security for TK/K students
• How to use the Expanded Learning TK/K Program Quality Self-Assessment Tool to identify quality interactions and SEL promising practices

• How to use the Expanded Learning TK/K Program Quality Self-Assessment Tool to design activities that are developmentally appropriate for TK/K students in Expanded Learning Programs
