This session focuses on a deeper dive into the benefits of Expanded Learning Programs calibrating Expanded Learning Student Behavior Expectations/Systems with the Instructional Day Student Behavior Expectations/Systems. Topics in this session include: Overview of research driven Behavior Expectations/Systems, how to calibrate the Expanded Learning Behavior Expectations/Systems with the Instructional Day Behavior Expectations/Systems, and Behavior Expectations/Systems promising practices for Expanded Learning staff working directly with students.

This session will focus on a deeper dive into the Comprehensive School Safety Plan (CSSP). Per(EC) Section 32281(a) every kindergarten through grade twelve school, public and public charter, including community and court schools, must develop and maintain a CSSP designed to address campus risks, prepare for emergencies, and create a safe, secure learning environment for students and school personnel. Topics in this session include: Overview of the Comprehensive School Safety Plan, timelines and components of the CSSP, potential impacts of the CSSP on Expanded Learning Programs, Expanded Learning Program’s best practices and considerations for student and staff safety.

This Deeper Dive session will focus on ASES and 21st CCLC attendance requirements. 

Participants will strengthen their understanding of the following about Attendance:

-Reporting deadlines

-Calculating attendance targets

-Grant reduction rules 

-Calendar Year vs. Fiscal Year

-Credit for emergency closures and professional development days

-Strategies for accurate attendance tracking

This session focuses on a deeper dive into the benefits of Expanded Learning Programs working with and utilizing Student Support Services. Student Support Services provides resources and instructional strategies that give students the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual support needed to learn. Topics in this session include: An overview of what Student Support Services are, how Student Support Services can positively impact students in Expanded Learning Programs, how to build relationships with Student Support Service Providers, and promising practices for utilizing Student Support Service Providers in ASES/21st CCLC and ELO-Programs.

The School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) is a strategic plan that maximizes the resources available to the school while minimizing duplication of effort with the ultimate goal of increasing student achievement. This session focuses on an overview of the SPSA and why it is important for Expanded Learning Program Administrators/Leadership to consider when designing Expanded Learning Program’s Academic Assistance and Enrichment offerings and how Expanded Learning Program Administrators/Leadership can be intentional in its support of school wide annual outcomes.
