The STEAM Learning Series is open to all Expanded Learning staff who wish to strengthen their understanding and confidence with STEAM content and practices with the purpose of creating positive STEAM learning environments for the youth in their programs. The STEAM Learning Series will introduce the importance of a growth mind set, the constructivist learning theory, restorative practices, and inquiry-based learning strategies.  Each STEAM Learning Series meeting will focus on strategies for implementing strong STEAM learning experiences for youth, as well as provide the participant with “ready-to-go” activities. 

All meetings are via ZOOM.  

What is observation?  How do you make an observation?  How do you teach youth to make observations?  Open-ended Art projects.

Using Observations to gather data and identify patterns.  Open-ended Math Activities.

Solution Fluency Model (one of 6 fluencies youth need for the 21st century), transforming activity into learning opportunities.  Focus on the process – How to utilize in projects of all kinds.
